Caitlin and Cory have been together since high school. They decided to exchange vows in front of the Tetons and I was thrilled to get the call to photograph their special day. Patrick and I loaded the cameras and drove up the day before. After a couple months of no rain in Jackson and wildfires burning nearby, there was a rainshower that night that seemed to help calm the blaze. But it didn't put a damper on the big day. We started at the Heart Six Ranch the morning of and the sun was shining brightly. Just wait until you see the sweet expression from a very happy groom when we led the bride for the first look.
We photographed them at the Moulton Barns on Mormon Row then took a drive to Schwabachers Landing where the ceremony took place. Once guests crossed the beaver damn to a sweet spot in the trees, we took our turn across. Surprisingly, no one fell in. :) The clouds rolled in and out while they exchanged vows and rings. A photograph of the groom's late mother sat close by and on it read "Because someone we love is in Heaven... there is a little bit of Heaven at our wedding". Sweet Bella, Caitlin's best canine friend, passed earlier that week and she honored her with her dog tags on the bouquet and of course a sweet photograph. It was all so heartwarming.
After the ceremony, we drove back to the ranch for cocktail hour and dinner. And then the rain came. We had a couple of really strong showers but once they passed, we were able to sit down for a meal in the courtyard. After a warm meal and the toasts, we made our way back to the deck and danced as the sun set.
Caitlin and Cory were surrounded by close family and friends and it was a beautiful day of celebration. I hope you enjoy these photographs that tell the story of the day. Cheers!
